Understand tenant referencing

Provider checks, consent and results are separate from an application.

  1. Ask the agent which referencing service is being used, what it checks and what information is required.
  2. Read the consent information before providing evidence through the approved provider flow.
  3. If a check is pending or requires a correction, follow the provider’s or agent’s instructions.
  4. Ask the agent to explain a result or a missing next step. The help assistant cannot approve a reference or change its result.

Do not assume a referencing provider is connected just because a plan mentions a reference allowance.
